This case is in Tennessee and I'd like to know about when an officer hold you on the side of the road for what can be excessive and getting information that they found afterwards suppressed I'd also like to know about the rights I have concerning them searching my vehicle and having a drug dog run around my vehicle

- Vehicle Searches: Officers need probable cause or your consent to search your vehicle without a warrant.
- Drug Dogs: An officer can use a drug dog during a lawful traffic stop, but using it should not unduly prolong the stop.

So if the stop was initiated and * minutes after the stop was initiated the officers ran my license and * minutes after the stop was initiated my license came back all clear and they continue to hold me without writing a ticket or probable cause in my opinion until a drug dog arrived at * minutes after the stop was initiated would that be considered excessive

My court-appointed lawyer did file for a motion of Discovery in the motion of discovery there is a video from the body cam of two separate officers that is present but it is the counties rule that only a lawyer can have the video the defendant is not allowed to have the video

The current lawyer I've got is not the one that mentioned the timeline he hasn't even watched the entire video my original public defender had to excuse himself from the case because of conflict of interest because the drugs that I went to purchase that day were for the lawyers boyfriend unbeknownst to the lawyer until they already had my case and I felt like I should tell them all the details so they remove their self in case they were called to testify

- File a Complaint: If your lawyer isn't adequately assisting you, you can file a complaint with the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility.

Okay so I think that the timeline is my best defense also when the officers pull me over the officer that initiated the stop came to my passenger window and said that they pull me over because they had received a call to * stating that there was a white vehicle running cars off the road and I was in a white GMC Jimmy the officers did not check for sobriety or mechanical soundness of the vehicle they did however immediately ask me if they could search the vehicle and if I had any large sums of money on me when we filed the motion of Discovery the reason that they stated in their arrest warrant for the stop which by the way the arresting officer is not the officer that initiated the stop but the arresting officer said that he witnessed me cross the double yellow line it does not say how many times and I can say honestly I did not cross the double yellow line because I knew that there were three car loads of officers behind me and I was being very careful
