I was involved in a hit-and-run where the driver cut me off and signaled halfway into their turn. They hadn't signaled earlier, so I assumed they were going straight and began accelerating after waiting for the previous driver who had signaled. The car was too close, and I couldn’t stop in time, so my front bike tire hit the rear side of their vehicle. Due to the angle of my bike and their right turn, my bike jolted to the right. I managed to regain control despite the construction debris on the sidewalk. I raised my hands in confusion, but the driver continued without stopping. I couldn’t capture their license plate, and although I went to urgent care, there were no injuries. Since I don’t have car insurance and lack the driver’s license plate, I can’t report the incident.
Hey Ozcar! Sorry to hear about the hit-and-run. Since there were no injuries and you couldn’t capture the license plate, your options are limited. However, you did the right thing by reporting it to the police. You might also consider checking with local businesses for any surveillance footage.
