The teacher assigned us in groups, each group decided alone to meet up outside of school grounds after class. Some one gets injured. The teacher only grouped us and the performance was due tomorrow. She never said we can't meet up but she also never said we can
In this situation, it seems the meet-up was independently organized by the students. Generally, teachers are not liable for injuries during such meet-ups unless they played a direct role in organizing or supervising the event. If you need more specific guidance, I recommend consulting a local legal expert. Do you need help finding one in Central Visayas?
I'm a student and my dad wants the teacher's to be liable for this Incase anything happens to me, so he won't let me go unless the teacher has a letter with their signature that allows me to go meet up since they will then be liable even though they don't have to. And if I can't go on a meet up my grades will be low and he said if my grades are low hell end my schooling and give me back to my grandparents in the mountain that has poorer education
It sounds like a tough situation you're in. Generally, teachers aren't liable for meet-ups organized by students. Your dad's concern might be about safety, but legally, teachers aren't responsible unless they directly organized it. Have you discussed your dad's concerns with the teacher to find a solution?
My dad's being unreasonable, and Im not close on my teachers. I think there was even a rule where student can't be friend swith teacher in social media
