Airbnb Injury Liability Guide

Summary

If you are injured at an Airbnb due to negligence, such as uncleared snow, document the incident thoroughly, including photos and communication with the host. Consider filing a complaint with Airbnb or seeking advice from a legal clinic in Ontario. If there were additional issues, like a malfunctioning door lock, these should also be documented as they may support your case for compensation.

This morning I was leaving an Airbnb and slipped on the snow and hurt my back
I'm sorry to hear about your injury, ****. Did the Airbnb property have any measures in place to clear snow or alert guests about potential hazards? This information could be important in determining liability.
No they did not, in fact from when I started occupying the airbnb there were issues! Friday January 9th, immediately upon check in we noticed the door lock wasn't working - from when we reported it until it was replaced was almost * hours - so we had no lock on our door for 1 day of our 3 days, and the following day was only able to leave briefly for maybe * Mins to get food before returning because again our stuff wasn't safes and had to wait for the door lock fixed
It sounds like you've had quite a challenging experience, ****. Given the injury and issues with the Airbnb, you might consider discussing potential compensation for your injury and inconvenience. Would you like assistance connecting with a local lawyer who can help with your case?

Since you've declined assistance from a local lawyer, you can consider documenting everything related to your injury and the issues at the Airbnb, including photos and communication with the host. If you choose to pursue compensation, you might consider filing a complaint with Airbnb or seeking advice from a legal clinic in Ontario.
